The Spirit of Giving
Do you remember the lady in Colorado that put up a wreath in the shape of a peace sign and the homeowner's association tried to make her take it down and fined her $25 a day? It made the news all over and the board members of the homeowner's association all resigned over the brouhaha.
I sent her $25 in a Christmas card and today I received a note with a Christmas card and two stickers in the shape of her wreath. The note was so thoughtful and obviously they got a flood of money from people because they plan to donate it all to Amnesty International, Disabled Veterans of America or their local library. I get to pick if I reply.
What a nice outcome and how thoughtful of them to follow up on what must have been thousands of people sending them letters of support.
