blog advertising is good!

Well, work has finally figured out I'm a blogger. Does that mean I'm getting "Dooced"? No, it means I will have to start a blog for work now. This blog will be about cool things on the Internet, technology, ways to navigate and find interesting things, et cetera. I will also be on the television directing people how to find these things on my blog.
This is where you come in. What blogs, sites, etc should I be looking at to find content? Also, what kind of makeup does a dude have to wear to be on camera? (Thankfully not in HD yet).
HELP.
I'll pimp out the link soon. Once I settle on a theme. And, I'm sure my segment will make it to YouTube.

If you want a good site to show beginners, start with www.icanhascheezburger.com The incredibly furry cuteness will catch attention as you demonstrate the most basic Internet skills.
Fark would be a good one for a more mature audience...
Come to think of it, it'd help to know what your target audience actually will be before tossing suggestions at you.

The noon news is streamed online, so we actually get a good portion of high powered internet users in addition to the retiree set.
So it's a both end of the spectrum thing.

I live and breathe engadget.com and gizmodo.com for the tech stuff. Also LIfehacker.com for more user oriented tips on software and hardware.
For the new web trends, there's mashable.com
For random information on just about every kitschy thing under the sun, there's boinboing.net
Slashdot .org is a more newsy internet news site. And Ars Technica is like the 60 minutes of technology to me.
You could start off maybe tellin people what RSS readers are and which are most popular. I use Bloglines, which is the ugliest but (for me) the most useful because I can tell it to show the last 12 hours, 24 hours, 72 hours, week, month, etc. All the other ones are mostly blind feeds that you can basically say read or unread.
Maybe some stories about what are wikis, cms, blogging tools (wordpress etc). Maybe some utilities for blogging like Blogjet http://www.codingrobots.com/blogjet/ which allow me to blog to multiple blogs with just one tool
Or...just hire me. lulz. I'm on top of it all!
