PBS

I'm watching the PBS 10 part special called Carrier this week. It's amazing the Pentagon has let them film on the USS Nimitz and it's an amazing series you should be watching. The Marines on the ship are getting hassled because their jets are all busted pieces of crap so the Navy pilots and crew are hurting their feelings. One Marine gives his hard luck story...he was left at a carnival in Texas by his parents. Seriously? Seriously.

The insight into life on a carrier is riveting. Order the series if you are missing it and you'll watch it and insist that others watch it, too.

What about the seaman who talked about being "himself" on the ship and how that wasn't particularly easy. Or perhaps the gay couple who were roommates. I was shocked that the "don't ask, don't tell" policy seems to be alive and well...

I also liked the story arc of the sailor that trained the men on what is sexual assault and then he was charged with sexual misconduct. DRAMA!
