Quit Closing The Streets!
Two of the three bridges across the river downtown are closed today, as are more than 10 blocks of Congress and Lavaca, as well as long stretches of Congress and South First Street south of the river. This is becoming ridiculous! I just ranted about this5 days ago!
You cannot have urban density and traffic problems and the close the GD streets every weekend! I am writing strongly worded letters to the entire city council today.

races happen. If you can't beat them run them in them! Don't worry, it gets hot here in May, so no more races until October.

I've got a better idea: permanently close the downtown portions of 6th Street and Congress Avenue to non-emergency motor traffic. Imagine a pedestrian shopping and entertainment district in downtown Austin.
