Last night at 12:24 a.m. a bright flash of lightning and the loudest thunderclap I've ever heard jolted me out of bed. The lightning kept coming and the loud thunder. Then, the wind! The wind! I threw on some clothes and got in the hallway, expecting to hear that familiar sound of a freight train to signal the oncoming tornado. That's when the hail started. Golf ball sized balls of ice hitting the house, bounding off the windows. It was so loud! I called JM and we stayed on the phone until it stopped.
This morning my lawn is a disaster. The poor flowers on my front porch look like a murder scene. I don't think I have any damage, but my neighbor's windows were busted out in their dining room and bedroom so they have a much bigger mess this morning than I do.
People are leaving damage report comments on the news stories and sending in their photos. It was a wild ride, that's for sure! Let's hope when I survey the damage this morning it's not so bad.

All the windows on my west facing side and my upstairs neighbor are busted. Sucks. I had to sleep in "the wild" last night and pray it didn't repeat. Also, hail damage on my car. I'm pretty upset.

That sucks. The only consolation is that you aren't alone. The old neighborhood took a BEATING. Sorry about your car. Get a good hail repair place. They do great work.
