You should really visit Vermont, Maine, Idaho and Oregon. All three are beautiful country. We used to have a lodge in Vermont, so we would ski and sometimes Summer there - it's beautiful, and everyone minds their own business, yet remains friendly. Most of the same can be said for Maine.

Oregon is beautiful, and the folk there are friendly (at least on the coast) and generally a vigorous lot. Idaho folks are very friendly if you can pronounce Boise correctly. Sun Valley has some great skiing as well.

I'm sure I'll make my way to the ones I've missed. I'm way to OCD to have a map with some state not "colored in" and not start thinking about what color it should be....
