Irrational fear No. 236 realized on Qantas Air
A Qantas jet made an emergency landing after an "explosive decompression" caused the cabin's floor to give way, exposing some of the cargo beneath and part of the ceiling collapsed. There is video of everyone just sitting calmly as the plane plummets towards earth.
I've been on a plane that made an "unscheduled landing" before and the same thing...calm. Well, not calm but a kind of fear that keeps you very quiet. Then upon landing the passengers break out into a quiet laughter...it releases all that "OMG. I totally thought we were going to die" that's been stored up.
